
Royce Bennett works as a Realtor/Broker Associate with Century 21 Champion Real Estate and has been an independent businessman in Onslow County for more than 27 years. He previously served in government as a police officer and administrator in the Rocky Mount and Morehead City Police Departments for more than 12 years. Throughout his professional career the one common thread has been service above self. He has always loved helping others.
Commissioner Bennett serves on the following advisory boards and commissions: Metro-Area Transportation Board, Onslow Water and Sewer Authority (Vice-Chairman), Jacksonville-Onslow Economic Development Partnership, and Onslow Strong Disaster Recovery Alliance (Vice-Chairman),
Commissioner Bennett received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from North Carolina Wesleyan College.
He and his wife Karen of more than 38 years reside in Jacksonville. They are the proud parents of two grown children, one very special granddaughter, and four grandsons. Commissioner Bennett is actively involved with Salvation Army (Chairman), Jacksonville Rotary (Past President), New River YMCA (Founder’s Committee), various real estate organizations, and is a deacon at Blue Creek Baptist Church.
