Lt. Col. David B. Brown (Retired) is a resident of Swansboro who has authored four books capturing missions of US Marines in Vietnam, Central America, Lebanon, and Nicaragua.  He was awarded the Gold Award for his first book, Battlelines, published in 2005.  His upcoming book, Shoulders to Stand On: Marine Corps Heroes from 1942-2022, is about segregated Marines in WWII.  Learn more at www.davidbrownbooks.net.
