Fire and Life Safety

Onslow County prides itself on providing high quality fire and life safety education to its citizens. This is done through ongoing evaluation of trends in our communities as well as working with state and federal organizations to stay current on best practices for our homes and businesses.

These requests for educational events are often completed by working directly with the individual or group making the request to ensure that the best topic needed is addressed. Furthermore, it is our goal to work with our volunteer fire and rescue agencies whenever possible to ensure that they are also involved with the public education within their districts.

Do-It-Yourself Home Safety

Most safety initiatives begin with you. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) provides a large assortment of safety tip sheets. They cover everything from home fire safety, winter safety, medical oxygen safety, escape planning and so much more. We highly recommend visiting the NFPA Safety Tip Sheets website for all of your home safety questions.
