Fire Rescue
The Fire Rescue Division is comprised of Emergency Responders, a Fire Marshal and is overseen by a Fire Rescue Division Chief. We assist Volunteer Fire and Rescue agencies across the county with supplemental staffing during the hours of 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Administrative staff is available at the Onslow County Emergency Operations Center from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Onslow County provides fire inspections as mandated by the North Carolina Fire Code. These inspections are handled by the Onslow County Planning and Development Department for all of the unincorporated areas of the county and the Town of Richlands. IF YOU ARE LIVING ON A MILITARY BASE, CURRENTLY THERE ARE A LIMITED NUMBER OF FIRE DEPARTMENTS THAT ALLOW ON BASE VOLUNTEERS. There are however additional needs listed on the Volunteer Onslow website. These include opportunities with agencies like the United Way's Volunteer Coordination Team in time of disaster or Sheep Dog Impact Assistance.
