The Emergency Management Office offers comprehensive emergency planning and coordination between:
  • Emergency communications
  • Local, state and federal emergency response agencies
  • Municipal and private sector agencies
Working together these groups provide an inclusive framework that encompasses all hazards and all levels of government.

Disaster and Emergency Planning

Onslow County manages multiple disasters and emergency plans. These plans are designed to provide a multi-discipline, all-hazards framework for the management of significant incidents or events impacting Onslow County.

Phases


The Emergency Management program includes four phases:
  • Mitigation
  • Preparedness
  • Recovery
  • Response
In times of emergency, the Emergency Management Office establishes and operates the County's Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

Preparedness

Onslow County Emergency Management works to help citizens prepare both through planning tools and outreach opportunities.

Outreach

Emergency Management also works with local business, industry, and citizen groups to provide outreach programs such as:
