Follow these helpful tips to build your kit and stay healthy during an emergency:

  • Include personal needs, such as food, water, medical supplies, to last your family and pets at least 3 days.
  • Have a first aid kit which includes gloves, thermometer, bandages, and antibiotic cream.
  • Learn, practice, and teach others important practical skills, such as frequent handwashing.
  • When soap and water are not available, use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol to keep hands clean.
  • Have multiple well fitting masks for everyone ages 2 and older.
  • Include disinfecting wipes to kill germs on frequently touched surfaces. 
  • Create and store an emergency water supply
  • Update supplies every 6 months and use supplies before they expire.
