Suicide is a serious public health issue that has lasting impact on individuals, families, as well as communities. Suicide affects many age groups, but it is the second leading cause of death for individuals between 15 to 24 of age. Its cause and risk factors are complex. Prevention and awareness on the importance of mental health are critical to addressing suicide. Do not hesitate to reach out if you or someone you know may be struggling. There are a variety of national and local resources available to offer help and support.

For more information, visit the CDC website or Youth.gov. Visit the Onslow County Schools website for additional resources.
