Did you know? Vaccines remain the best defense against infectious diseases, and they play a vital role in protecting the health of communities. According to CDC, among children born between 1994-2018, vaccination will prevent an estimated 419 million illnesses, 26.8 million hospitalizations, and 936,000 deaths. Despite the success and overall public acceptance of vaccines, less than optimal vaccine rates continue to pose a significant threat to public health. Additionally, the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated existing challenges to routine and seasonal vaccination. Data sources have indicated an alarming decline in immunization rates among all age groups during the past year.
Help us fight vaccine hesitancy. Stop the spread by spreading the word about preventable, lifesaving vaccines. Below are downloadable images that our partners are welcome to use on their websites, social media pages, or to share with clients.

Earlier this year, the Onslow County Health Department was a recipient of the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) grant Supporting Local Health Departments to Increase Vaccine Uptake through COVID-19. The goal of this project is to support Local Health Departments and local efforts to maintain and increase immunization coverage levels. This includes routinely recommended vaccines, such as influenza, as well as COVID-19 vaccines to protect our vulnerable populations from the pandemic. With this grant and the support of our community partners, the Onslow County Health Department will continue to expand vaccination outreach across the county improve access to information and resources.
