Beach Access Sites and Waterfront

BEACH ACCESS SITES

BEACH ACCESS #1 - Located on SR 1568, sound side, 4 miles north of North Topsail Beach high-rise bridge.  Features a ramp and walkway to the ocean, restrooms, showers, and a gravel parking lot for 30 vehicles on about 1 acre. 

BEACH ACCESS #2 - Located on NC210, 4 miles southeast of North Topsail Beach high-rise bridge.  Features an elevated wooden pavilion on the oceanfront with a ramp to the beach for the handicapped, concession areas,restrooms, showers, and gravel parking lots for 250 vehicles on about 4 acres.

BEACH ACCESS #3 - Located past the St. Regis Hotel at the mouth of the New River at North Topsail Beach.  Thie area has traditionally been a favorite place for surf fishing.  The park has 700 ft. frontage facing New River Inlet and is a vehicular access.

BEACH ACCESS #4 - Located on SR 1568, about 1 mile from NC 210.  Features an elevated wooden observation deck on the ocean, restrooms, showers, concession area, and parking for 150 vehicles.


CROSSWALKS

Thirteen wooden public beach crosswalks have public beach access and name signs erected.  These crosswalks are located from 2nd St. North (Sea Haven) to Reeves St. at the Surf City line.

NEW RIVER WATERFRONT PARK

Dedicated in June 1987.  Located in downtown Jacksonville on the banks of the New River Between the bridges.  A passive recreation area, featuring a lighted boardwalk from bridge to bridge, a pier, and a floating boat ramp, picnic tables, and parking areas.
