Environmental Health Services Section is responsible for conducting sanitation inspections in establishments and facilities which provide food and lodging services to the public. Establishments under inspection include: food service establishments, schools, child care facilities, adult day service facilities, public swimming pools, hospitals, nursing homes, adult care homes, and other similar institutions. Inspections are conducted regularly by Environmental Health Specialists who are authorized representatives enforcing state rules and regulations. In addition to conducting sanitation inspections, Environmental Health Specialists also conduct complaint investigations, food borne disease outbreaks, childhood lead poisoning investigations, review plans for future facilities, and permit tattoo artists.
