Nonprofit Requests for County Funding

During the annual budget process the Onslow County Board of Commissioners consider requests for funding from nonprofit agencies. Grant applications for the County's 2023-2024 Fiscal Year are available at the bottom of this page.
  
Funding Sources
There are two sources of funding. These are the General Fund of the County and the Tourism Funds. In order to be considered for funding the completed application and required documentation must be received by the due date. General Fund funding is considered for nonprofit agencies that provide a service that the County could provide.  Tourism Funding is considered for nonprofit agencies that enhance and/or attract travel and tourism to the County either through day-to-day operations, events or capital improvements.  
  
Submitting Applications
All applications for funding and required documentation are due March 1, 2023.  Applications and required documentation can be submitted in 1 of 4 ways:

Agencies will be given the opportunity to provide a five-minute brief to the Onslow County Budget Team on March 23, 2023, beginning at 9AM. If an agency wishes to participate, they will need to provide contact information on page one of the application. Briefs will be recorded for Onslow County Board of Commissioner review.

If an application and documentation are submitted electronically, a confirmation email will be sent. If a confirmation email is not received, please contact the Finance Office at 910 455-3404.

Funding Awards
When funds are awarded, a letter and contract will be sent to the organization at the address on page one of the application. Prior to disbursement of funds, the signed contract must be received by the County Finance Office.

Contractual Agreement
As a part of the funding process, the nonprofit will enter a contractual arrangement with the County, which outlines the requirements for both parties. All funds received are subject to a review by the County and under certain conditions require an annual independent financial review or audit.
