9. On March 10, 2020 Governor Roy Cooper declared a State of Emergency to coordinate response to the spread of Covid-19. On March 14 public schools closed statewide. On March 17 restaurants and bars closed dine in service. On March 27 a statewide Stay at Home order directed people to stay home unless on essential business or exercising outdoors. Additionally, gatherings of 10 or more people were banned.
