Billy Mills who served on the Onslow County Board of Commissioners from1959 to 1964, passed away at the age of 90 on Sunday, July 23, 2023.
Mr. Mills was not only an esteemed entrepreneur but also an exemplary community leader, actively contributing his expertise and passion by serving on numerous committees, clubs, and boards. During his three terms as County Commissioner, he set a shining example of visionary leadership that continues to resonate today. His invaluable contributions extended beyond the county's borders, as he dutifully represented our region in both the North Carolina House of Representatives and Senate.
Throughout his notable career Mills tireless efforts paved the way for advancements in education, infrastructure, and public services, fostering an environment of growth and progress that continues to benefit our community to this day.
