The Onslow Board of Commissioners will meet in a regular session at 11AM, Monday, February 7, 2022 in the Commissioners’ Chambers at the Onslow County Government Center, 234 NW Corridor Blvd, Jacksonville, NC.
The County will consider action to put up for sale surplus land on Andermora Road. Commissioners will also consider accepting a $129,537 grant from the US Department of Justice to provide the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office with body cameras. Another US Department of Justice grant on the agenda for consideration is an $899,943 grant for drug addiction treatment programs at the Onslow County Detention Center.
Continuing with the grant presentations are three grants for the Albert J. Ellis Airport. Two of the grants come from federal ARPA funds and provide relief for airport tenants and funds for general operation of the airport. The third grant is from the NC Department of Transportation and is for runway rehabilitation. Finishing off the general items is a review of the total amount of unpaid taxes for the previous fiscal year and a request from the Onslow County Tax Office to advertise the 2021 tax liens.
There are two appointments on the agenda for positions on the Animal Services Advisory Committee and the Board of Equalization and Review.
Items on the consent agenda include Budget amendments, tax releases and refunds, previous meeting minutes, and a proclamation in honor of Mrs. Blanche Parsons Mallard’s 101st birthday.
