Early voting is underway in Onslow County for municipal elections from October 14-30. During this time voters can cast their ballots at the Board of Elections office at 246 Georgetown Rd in Jacksonville. During the early voting period eligible Citizens can also register and vote at the same time.
Early voting hours are Monday through Friday, 8AM-5PM and there are two Saturday opportunities to vote, October 23 and 30 from 8AM-3PM.
Election Day for municipal elections is November 2 with polling places open from 6:30AM-7:30PM. There is no voter ID requirement at this time. The average voter turnout for a general election in Onslow County is around 55% while the average turnout for a municipal election is just 12.5%.
Municipalities participating in the November general election are Holly Ridge, North Topsail Beach, Richlands, Surf City, and Swansboro. Jacksonville’s municipal election has been moved to March due to Census data delays and redistricting.
