Flexible Spending Accounts

Full-time employees may redirect a portion of their salary to provide reimbursement for known medical or dependent care expenses. Participation in this program saves employees money by reducing their taxable income (tax deductions are calculated after the elected amount is deducted from the employee's gross pay).

Pre-Paid Legal

For a monthly fee, full-time employees can have access to a law firm who will assist with issues such as will preparation and traffic tickets.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is provided by the County through LifeServices EAP to help full-time employees and their families with personal, family and job-related problems such as depression, substance abuse, and financial or legal concerns. An EAP is a job-based program with the goal of assisting employees in achieving and maintaining happy, healthy and fully productive lives both on and off the job.

The EAP is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and the first six visits with a counselor are provided free. You may contact the EAP at 800-822-4847 or visit their website (please contact HR for login information).

Management Tool for Supervisors

You may contact the EAP at 800-822-4847 to get help with personnel issues or you may also refer your employees to EAP for specific job performance issues. If you need to refer an employee to EAP, please complete the attached LifeServices Supervisory Referral Form and send it to LifeServices EAP so that they will know how to counsel the employee to best meet your needs. Please forward a copy of this referral form to Krystal Bennett in Human Resources.

Appointments
Once the Referral Form has been sent to LifeServices EAP, the employee will need to call 800-822-4847 between 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. EST Monday through Friday and identify themselves as a management referral. The call center will select a local counselor for the employee and make an appointment.

If the employee has an issue or conflict with the selected counselor, they can let the person they speak with at the call center know and another counselor would be selected. If the employee is already seeing a counselor, they can check with the call center to see if their counselor is on the LifeServices EAP network panel so they can continue seeing their counselor. Appointments scheduled for supervisory referrals would be counted as work time.

Confidentiality
The employee's counseling sessions are confidential and no details about what is discussed during the appointments will be shared with County management. LifeServices EAP will contact us to verify employees are attending scheduled appointments, are complying with the program and when follow-up appointments are scheduled.

Additional Information
For more information, please refer to the Life Services EAP Supervisor Manual or visit their website (please contact HR for login information).
