Crime Prevention/Community Oriented Policing/DARE

Organizes neighborhood watch programs. Provides crime prevention speakers to local organizations. Crime Prevention Officers can assist you with any community service needs. Please call if you have any questions or concerns.

This program has been in operation for over three years. It provides extended patrols in problem areas and communities. These deputies work directly with citizens within a community to help them identify their problems and methods to resolve the problems. Communities must recognize the solution to their problems lie within the community, most of the time. Government can't solve all the communities problems. Responsible citizens who are willing to participate in "take back our community" can get assistance from the COPS.


The D.A.R.E. Unit consists of uniform and plain clothed deputies customarily assigned to other divisions. These deputies provide the following public services. D.A.R.E. training for the high schools, crime prevention, lectures, etc. Statistics have proven that early intervention drug teaching does reduce the likelihood a child will get involved in drugs.
