Onslow County Solid Waste

On Thursday, October 1st, 2020, the Onslow County Solid Waste Department’s new fee structure will take effect. The fees were approved in the FY 2020-2021 budget. The Onslow County Solid Waste Department, including the Landfill and Convenience Sites, operates as an Enterprise Fund. As a result, no taxpayer revenue is used and the department operates solely on fees collected. The last tipping fee increase for the Onslow County Landfill was in 2009; since that time, there has been significant growth in the costs associated with maintaining operations. The Board of Commissioners has expressed a great desire to continue offering the same service level currently provided to our citizens and commercial vendors.   The County is pleased to announce it is still accepting recycling free of charge and serving customers at the Landfill Monday through Saturday from 6:30am – 5:00pm.
